The event was held  in conjunction with the German Currents Film Festival

LOS ANGELES, CA – One of Germany’s most celebrated and well-known actresses, Veronica Ferres, was honored for her body of work on Saturday October 20th 2018, at Pixomondo LAX as part of the 12th Annual German Currents Film Festival.

The festival, which introduces contemporary German films to a California audience, is presented by the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles, the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Ferres tribute, held at Pixomondo’s West Los Angeles headquarters, was moderated by Dierk Sindermann of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. It was followed by a Filmmakers Brunch.

Ferres has appeared in over 100 films and TV shows, and won such prestigious German awards as the Adolf Grimme Prize, the German Television Prize, the Bavarian Television Prize, the Golden Camera Award, the Bambi Award and Emmy Award.

Among the actress’ film work is Schtonk, which was nominated for a best foreign language Oscar, Werner Herzog’s Salt and Fire, the Emmy nominated telefilm, The Miracle of Berlin, and the mini-series The Manns.

Ferres recent work includes Intrigo: Death of an Author opposite Ben Kingsley, Siberia starring Keanu Reeves, and The Comedian with Robert De Niro and Leslie Mann.

Pixomondo’s Los Angeles offices are often the site for many Hollywood events and the Ferres tribute was especially fitting. Pixomondo and Ferres previously worked on the 2017 film Unter deutschen Betten starring the actress with Pixomondo providing the visual effects.

Additionally, Pixomondo founder and CEO Thilo Kuther began the company in Germany, before growing it to a global operation spanning three continents.  It continues to operate offices in Stuttgart and Frankfurt, Germany.

The tribute and Filmmaker Brunch was organized by The Goethe-Institut Los Angeles, GABA Film Initiative, PIXOMONDO and White Bear PR.
